It is located in the iconic premises of the Automatic Mills in Pardubice, designed by architect Josef Gočár and sensitively revitalised in the spirit of combining industrial heritage with modern culture.

The gallery offers exhibitions of contemporary and historical art, thematic projects, collection exhibitions and a rich accompanying programme for the general public. It also includes a gallery library, an educational studio and a multifunctional hall for lectures, screenings and workshops. The second building of the Gočár Gallery can be found on Pernštýnské náměstí in the House U Jonáše, which is a historical monument of Pardubice.
